NAPPANEE - Eilein M. Kurtz, 89, of 21784 CR 46, New Paris, died at 4:25 a.m. Jan. 9, 2009, in her daughter's home.
She was born April 5, 1919, in Milford, to Guy and Retta Smith Leatherman. On July 23, 1939, she married W. Kenneth Kurtz, who died Dec. 20, 2008.
She was a housewife and a lifetime area resident. She graduated from New Paris High School. She attended Maple Grove Church of the Brethren.
Surviving are a daughter, Kathy Baker, New Paris; a brother, Ray (and spouse Doris) Leatherman, Goshen; three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two brothers and a son-in-law.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Maple Grove Church of the Brethren, with Dwayne Runkle officiating. Burial will be in New Paris Cemetery.
Calling is from 2 to 6 p.m. Monday at Thompson-Lengacher & Yoder Funeral Home, Nappanee.
