Eduardo “Ed” Castellanos, 65, of Rudisill Blvd., Fort Wayne, passed away at 6:27 a.m. Jan. 9, 2012, in his residence.
He was born March 6, 1946, in Elsa, Texas, to Manuel Marquez and Elida Lopez Castellanos.
He served in the U.S. Army during Vietnam as a medic from 1966-67, then he moved to Fort Wayne, where he was a resident for the past 40 years. He was a machinist and CNC operator at Lincoln Foodservice Products, Fort Wayne, for more than 40 years until his passing.
He was a devout Christian, serving the Lord as a Sunday school teacher, choir member and evangelist. He led a bible study at work where he was known as “Brother Ed.” He will be remembered as a benevolent man. He had a kind heart, and was generous to those who knew him, as well as to strangers in need.
He will be lovingly remembered by his mother, Elida Lopez Castellanos, Warsaw; two sisters, Amelia C. Lopez and Sue Castellanos, both of Warsaw; two brothers, Joe (and spouse Donna) Castellanos, Texas, and David Castellanos, Fort Wayne; and several nieces and nephews, whom he loved. He was preceded in death by his father, who died in June 1999, a sister, and a brother.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home, 225 Argonne Road, Warsaw, officiated by Pastor Jack Worth. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw, with military honors by members of Indiana ARNG Honor Guard, American Legion Post 49 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1126.
