Earl “Gene” Fancil, 67, passed away at 4:26 a.m. Feb. 3, 2013, in Kosciusko Community Hospital, Warsaw. He was born March 24, 1945, in Rochester, to Pearl Elenore Fancil. On July 12, 1986, in Warsaw, he married Sherry Lynn Neer, who survives in Warsaw. He was a resident of Kosciusko County for the past 49 years and was a graduate of Rochester High School. He spent 30 years as a Warsaw Firefighter and during this time he was a self-employed carpenter. He was a cabinet and furniture maker and was known for his great carpenter skills. As a hobby he loved to fish for carp. Also surviving are a son, Christopher (and spouse Janelle) Fancil, Syracuse; and two grandchildren, Tess and Sydney Fancil. He was preceded in death by his parents. No calling or services are planned.
