David Lloyd Goff, 77, of Phoenix, Ariz., died May 15, 2009, at John C Lincoln Hospital, Phoenix.

He was born Nov. 27, 1931, in Peru, to Clarence "Gus" and Elizabeth Wallich Goff. His wife, Doris Jean, preceded him in death.

He served in the U.S. Army from 1949-53, as an artillery mechanic during the Korean War. He was the garage foreman for the Illinois Power Co. for many years, and was a self-employed carpenter until he retired in Phoenix.

Surviving are two daughters, Davi (and spouse Todd Slabaugh), Etna Green, and Kim (and spouse Robert) Jones, Moulton, Ala.; two sons, Jeff Goff, Louisville, Ky., and Randy Goff, Decatur Ala.; a brother, James Goff, Kenai, Alaska; two stepdaughters; two stepsons; and nine grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a sister and a brother.

A graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Township Cemetery, Etna Green, with Lowell Zentz officiating and with military honors by the members of Bourbon American Legion Post 424.
