To Hold Events This Week
AKRON – There's a communitywide men's Bible study group meeting on Saturday mornings at Egg Town Coffee (formerly Java Jacks) in Mentone. Men from several area churches are participating and all are welcome. Breakfast is at 8 a.m. and the study starts at 9 a.m.
On Saturday, Beaver Dam Community Church, 9798 W. CR 1000S, Akron, is reserved from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
On Sunday, worship is at 9 a.m. and 10:31 a.m. with coffee and refreshments served from 10 to 10:30 a.m. It is Veterans Day Sunday. OCC shoeboxes and food pantry bags are available. The Pastor Appreciation/Butch's Retirement Celebration is after the second service.
On Monday, the trustees meeting is at 6 p.m.
On Tuesday, the BDW meeting is at 9 a.m.
On Wednesday, the King’s Kids program is from 6-7:30 p.m. It is open to potty-trained 3-year-olds to fifth grade.
On Nov. 13, the Wheels on Fire meeting is at the Akron Community Center at 6:30 p.m.
On Nov. 15, the Wheels on Fire bake sale is at the Akron Lions Club Fish Fry.
Miller To Present The Message
MENTONE – The community is invited to Mentone United Methodist Church on Sunday for worship at 10:15 a.m. Pastor Dana Miller will present the message, “A Second Chance: Jonah and the God of Mercy.” The scripture is Jonah Chapter 3.
The worship team will meet Monday at 5:30 p.m.
Women’s Bible study is held at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesdays.
Holiday choir practice is at 5:30 p.m. on Thursdays.
Join them for Feast & Fellowship on Wednesdays from 6 to 7:30 p.m. A casual light meal is provided along with fellowship, music, study and fun. All are welcome. Feast & Fellowship will follow the Tippecanoe Valley School Corporation school calendar. Mark your calendars and join them for an evening of song with Gene Mullett on Wednesday, Nov. 12 during Feast & Fellowship.

Eastway To Present Message
BURKET – Burket Bible Church welcomes everyone to its services. Sunday school starts at 9 a.m. and worship is at 10:15 a.m. The message this week by Pastor Mark Eastway is "What's So Special About Children" from Matthew 18:1-5. The focus is on how Jesus lifted children as a model of saving faith. Eastway will provide music.
There is a men's community Bible study each Saturday at Egg Town Coffee in Mentone. Breakfast is at 8 a.m. and study starts at 9 a.m. The women's Bible study will meet Saturday at 9 a.m. at Egg Town Coffee.
Burket Lifewise classes are Tuesdays at 10:30 a.m.
Claypool UMC To Hold
Community Harvest Dinner
CLAYPOOL – The ladies of Claypool United Methodist Church are busy baking their pies for the community harvest dinner Friday at 302 E. Section St. They will be serving turkey and all the trimmings from 4 until 7 p.m. It is a free-will donation.
They open their doors open at 9 a.m. every Sunday for anyone to join the Bible studies at 9:30 a.m. They open their mouths to enjoy snacks and fellowship at 10:15 a.m. Worship service begins at 10:30 a.m. There will be praise music, prayers and a kids message.
The children have their own church during the sermon. They are starting to prepare their Christmas program.
Pastor Diane Quance is starting a series that will be looking at ways we can prepare our hearts for the upcoming family and holiday gatherings. This Sunday, she will be speaking from Psalms 51:10 through 12 and Mark 7:1 through 5, 14 and 15. She will be questioning if our hearts are in good condition and what are we are putting into our heart.

Atwood Otterbein Celebrates
All Saints’ Day
ATWOOD – The Atwood Otterbein Church congregation celebrated one of the most moving worship celebrations of the church year, which was All Saints’ Day. This is a day set aside to remember and honor those who have gone before us and are now living in the presence of the Lord and Savior. Those honored at Sunday’s service included Caroline Hooks, Bill Huffer, Larry Ross, Carol Sparrow, Linda Stroup, Charlene Vogel and Gary Williams. The service concluded with Holy Communion.
On Friday, Sisterhood in Faith hosted their annual trick-or-treat for community children in Fellowship Hall. Over 75 children and their families enjoyed the treats and hospitality while showing off their unique costumes and enjoying the antics of costumed congregation volunteers.
Sisterhood in Faith met on Wednesday to finalize planning for their annual Christmas celebration that will take place on Dec. 3 at Papa Vino’s in Warsaw. Planning for 2026 has begun under the direction of the new president, Sue Earl.

To Hold Services
This week at Community Bible Church Lloyd continues his study in I Kings Chapter 9.
This week’s theme focuses on three areas to change all. The include support, servive and stewardship.
The week features the ladies chorus group as they perform “I Will Serve Thee.”
Pastor Larry Overstreet will teach Snday school at 9 a.m., foollowed by 10:15 a.m. worship service and the teaching and discussion service at 6 p.m. There will be a mid-week prayer and Bible service on Wednesday at 6 p.m. led by Pastor Dave Mitchell.
