Miller To Present Message
MENTONE – The community is invited to Mentone United Methodist Church on Sunday for worship at 10:15 a.m. Pastor Dana Miller will present the message, “When Silence Speaks.” The scripture is Luke 18:1-8. Join the church for its chili cook-off and pie contest after worship. Vote for your favorite chili by putting money (a donation) at a chili station and a written vote for your favorite pie.
Join them for Feast & Fellowship on Wednesdays from 6 to 7:30 p.m. A casual light meal is provided along with fellowship, music, study and fun. All are welcome. A guest will speak about the program Sleep in Heavenly Peace (building beds for children) on Wednesday. Feast & Fellowship will follow the Tippecanoe Valley School Corporation school calendar.
October is Pastor Appreciation Month.

Burket Bible To Hold Services
BURKET – Burket Bible Church welcomes everyone to its services. Sunday school starts at 9 a.m. and worship is at 10:15 a.m. The message this week by Pastor Mark Eastway is "Law Abiding Citizens" from Romans 13:1-7. Gary Kuhn will provide music.
There is a men's community Bible study each Saturday at Egg Town Coffee in Mentone. Breakfast is at 8 a.m. and study starts at 9 a.m. The women's Bible study meets the second and fourth Saturdays at 9 a.m. at Egg Town Coffee.
Praise practice is Tuesdays at 4 p.m. Burket Lifewise classes are Tuesdays at 10:30 a.m.

Banning Continues Message Series
ATWOOD – Last Sunday, Atwood Otterbein Church Pastor David Banning continued his message series on Discovering Your Spiritual Gifts. Each person has a gift given by God for the common good of the body of Christ. Banning taught how to go about discovering those gifts. First by listening for God, then having confirmation from those who know us best, and finally by the fruits produced by using our gifts.
Banning and wife, Jackie, were honored during the service for Pastor Appreciation Sunday. After the service, the congregation gathered in the Fellowship Hall for light refreshments with the couple.
Sisterhood in Faith will host their annual Community Fun Night Oct. 25 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Atwood Community Building, and all are invited to attend. There will be Euchre, games and snacks and everyone is welcome.
On Oct. 31 from 5-7 p.m., the church congregation will host trick-or-treat for area children in the Fellowship Hall. There will be coffee, hot chocolate and doughnuts available for adults, too. Nearby Atwood Fire Department will be hosting trick-or-treat for the children at the same time.

Gospel Hill To Hold Fish Fry
SILVER LAKE – Gospel Hill, 303 S. Jefferson St., Silver Lake, will hold a fish fry Saturday from 1 to 5 p.m. or until sold out.
The menu includes fried fish at $12 per pound, baked beans at $5 per pint, macaroni salad at $5 per pint, potato salad at $5 per pint and baked goods at varying prices. It is carry-out only.

Warsaw Trinity UMC To
Hold Events This Week
All are welcome to join Trinity United Methodist Church for events, Sunday school and worship. Contact the church office with questions. The church’s lift is fixed. Come on in the south handicapped-access ramp if you need that.
At 6:30 p.m. today is bingo. They are back downstairs this month for bingo. Doors open at 6 p.m. Come early to grab snacks and your cards and have a chance to visit for a while. Calling will start at 6:30 p.m.
At 9 a.m. Sunday, adult Sunday school will meet. They have two classes to choose from and coffee and tea are available prior to, and after Sunday school. At 10 a.m., there will be worship. Join them for singing, reading scripture and a message from Pastor Andrea Kennedy, “Keep Knocking,” based on Luke 18:1-8.
On Monday at 1:30 p.m., the Yarn-A-Little crafting group will meet. Bring whatever work in progress you have that travels. They are not limited to yarn alone. They have folks quilting, cross-stitching and a myriad of other things. At 7 p.m., Scout Troop 715 is back.
On Wednesday at 4 p.m., RISE Teen recovery, a partnership with Living in Transition Effectively ministries, will meet.
Trunk-n-treat will be Oct. 31 from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. The first 50 costumed kiddos can have a free hotdog and hot chocolate in addition to making their way through the cars.

Beaver Dam Community Church
To Hold Worship Services
AKRON – There's a communitywide men's Bible study group meeting on Saturday mornings at Egg Town Coffee (formerly Java Jacks) in Mentone. Men from several area churches are participating and all are welcome. Breakfast is at 8 a.m. and the study starts at 9 a.m.
On Sunday, worship at Beaver Dam Community Church, 9798 W. CR 1000S, Akron, at 9 a.m. and 10:31 a.m. with coffee refreshments served from 10 to 10:30 a.m. It is first service Communion. A fellowship lunch is after church. Bring a dish to share.
On Wednesday, the King’s Kids program is from 6 to 7:30 p.m. It is open to potty-trained 3-year-olds to fifth grade.
On Oct. 25, the church is reserved from 1 to 3 p.m.

Heinz To Bring Message
CLAYPOOL – People can enjoy the drive to Claypool United Methodist Church, looking at the colorful leaves. You’ll want to be there by 9:30 a.m. for study then fellowship at 10:10 a.m. Worship will start at 10:30 a.m. David Heinz will bring the message “Rooted in the Word” from 2nd Timothy 3:14-17. The children have their own church during the sermon. People can view worship hour on Facebook at Claypool UMC, Indiana. The devotional group invites newcomers to join them on Wednesdays at 4:30 p.m. It will be followed by the praise team practice.
Claypool United Methodist Church will be downtown Claypool Oct. 31 from 6 to 7:30 p.m. for trunk-and-treat.

Community Bible Church To Hear From Missionaries
This week, Community Bible Church, 2947 S. County Farm Road, Warsaw, will feature Jack and Ben McMahan, missionaries to New Zealand.
Come out and hear how folks from another part of the world live and listen to a gospel message by brother Jack.
