Yoder To Present Message
MENTONE – The community is invited to Mentone United Church on Sunday for worship at 10:15 a.m. They will begin a new sermon series “Redeeming Love.” Pastor Dana Yoder will present the message “When Life Feels Empty.” The scripture is Ruth 1:1-22.
The monthly MUMC friend’s breakfast will be Tuesday at 8:30 a.m. at Egg Town Coffee.
A Red Cross blood drive will be held on Tuesday from 11 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Call 1-800-733-2767 or visit RedCrossBlood.org and enter menumc to schedule an appointment.
Join them for Feast & Fellowship beginning Wednesday from 6 to 7:30 p.m. A casual light meal is provided along with fellowship, music, study and fun. All are welcome. (Feast & Fellowship will follow the Tippecanoe Valley School Corporation school calendar.)

To Hold Events This Week
AKRON – There's a communitywide men's Bible study group meeting on Saturday mornings at Egg Town Coffee (formerly Java Jacks) in Mentone. Men from several area churches are participating and all are welcome. Breakfast is at 8 a.m. and the study starts at 9 a.m.
On Sunday, worship at Beaver Dam Community Church, 9798 W. CR 1000S, Akron, is at 9 a.m. and 10:31 a.m. with coffee refreshments served from 10 to 10:30 a.m. It is Pastor Benji Riddle's first time in the pulpit.
On Monday, the trustees meeting is at 6 p.m.
On Tuesday, the BDW meeting is at 9 a.m. The finance committee meeting is at 6 p.m.
On Wednesday, the King’s Kids program is from 6 to 7:30 p.m. It is open to potty-trained 3-year-olds to fifth grade.
On Sept. 13, the Wheels on Fire food booth will be at the car show in Akron from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Eastway To Present Message
BURKET – Burket Bible Church welcomes everyone to its services. Sunday school starts at 9 a.m. and worship is at 10:15 a.m. The message this week by Pastor Mark Eastway is "Raising Godly Children" from Deuteronomy 6:4-9.
There is a men's community Bible study each Saturday at Egg Town Coffee in Mentone. Breakfast is at 8 a.m. and study starts at 9 a.m. The women's Bible study meets the second and fourth Saturdays at 9 a.m. at Egg Town Coffee.
Praise practice is Tuesdays at 4 p.m. Burket Lifewise classes are Tuesdays at 10:30 a.m. Burket Bible Church will host bingo at Miller's Merry Manor on Sept. 15.
Claypool UMC To Hold
Events This Week
CLAYPOOL – September is starting out busy at Claypool United Methodist Church.
Today, SPARC meets after school until 5:30 p.m. They enjoy snacks, crafts, music, Bible lesson and games. On Sunday, they will be gathering for Bible lessons at 9:30 a.m. for all ages. Fellowship time with snacks is at 10:10 a.m. in the Fellowship Hall. Worship in the sanctuary begins at 10:30 a.m. There will be prayers, praise music and Pastor Diane Quance will speak from Philemon 1:4-9 “Known By Love.”
The children have kids church during the sermon. This Sunday they will return to partake at the communion table. Worship hour can be seen on Facebook at Claypool UMC, Indiana. Their doors are opened to one and all, in hopes you might join us. On Monday at 6:30 p.m., the administration council will meet. On Tuesday at 10 a.m., the Women of Faith will meet at the church. Their offering will be items for the closet at Claypool Elementary. On Wednesday, the devotional group meets at 4:30 p.m. They welcome newcomers. The praise team will practice at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday.

Hot Doggity Day
Warsaw First Brethren, 1318 E. Center St., Warsaw, invites the community to Hot Doggity Day on Saturday from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. There will be free hot dogs, games and prizes.

N. Manchester UMC To Hold Dinner
NORTH MANCHESTER – North Manchester United Methodist Church will host a baked steak dinner on Friday from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. or until sold out. The dinner will be dine-in and also a drive-through. The public is invited and the cost is $10 per meal.
The church is at 306 E. 2nd St., North Manchester and is handicapped-accessible.
Talk On Christian Science
Set For Sept. 16
First Church of Christ Scientist is among Christian Science churches in north central Indiana that are sponsoring a talk on Christian Science titled Effective Prayer: Finding healing and wholeness in divine love.
The talk will be given by Bobby Lewis, a Christian Science practitioner and member of the Christian Science Board of Lectureship, at 7 p.m. Sept. 16 at Potawatomi Conservatories, 2105 Mishawaka Ave., South Bend.
