SYRACUSE – Christopher M. “Chris” Wehmeyer, 32, Syracuse, passed away at 7:45 p.m. April 6, 2016, at Lutheran Hospital, Fort Wayne. He was born Aug. 18, 1983, in Goshen, to Karen E. Watts and Terry Ellsworth. He was later adopted by Todd Wehmeyer. On Oct. 4, 2008, in Syracuse, he married Megan A. Straub, who survives in Syracuse. He was a lifetime Syracuse area resident, attended Wawasee High School, Syracuse, and received his associate’s degree from Ivy Tech in Warsaw. He attended the Vineyard Community Church, Syracuse. Also surviving are a daughter, Londyn Wehmeyer; two sons, Aiden and Tymon Wehmeyer; his mother, Karen Wehmeyer, Syracuse; two sisters, Ashley Cook, Syracuse, and Michalea Knight, LaGrange; two brothers, Mike (and spouse Amanda) Wehmeyer, Millersburg, and Jonathan Wehmeyer, Syracuse; his fathers, Todd Wehmeyer and Terry Ellsworth, both of Elkhart; grandparents, Dave and Kay Anglemyer, Goshen, and Anne Burns, North Webster; aunts and uncles: Melissa (and spouse Bill) Kinney, Deb (and spouse Lloyd) Lafary, Raymond (and spouse Angela) Watts, all of Goshen; Becki (and spouse Troy) Burkhead, Syracuse; Tracy Wehmeyer, Indianapolis; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Raymond Watts and Ron Burns, and an aunt, Barbara (and spouse Watts) Brovant. Services will be at 4 p.m. Saturday at Owen Family Funeral Home, Syracuse, with Pastor Kent Butcher, Vineyard Community Church, Syracuse, officiating. Cremation will take place at Cremation Services of Kosciusko County, Warsaw.
