BOURBON – Carl A. Metheny, 93,  of rural Bourbon, passed away Jan. 7, 2013, in Bremen Community Hospital.
He was born Dec. 31, 1919, near Bourbon, to Roscoe and Edna Sellers Metheny. On Dec. 9, 1951, he married Norma Jean Hudson, who died June 29, 2008.
He was a lifelong Bourbon resident but spent many winters in Sebring, Fla. He was a 1937 graduate of Bourbon High School, was a longtime business owner of Metheny Elevator and was a farmer. He enjoyed fishing. He was a member of Bremen Missionary Church and attended Bourbon First United Methodist Church.
Surviving are two children, Diane Metheny (and spouse David) Horn and David (and spouse Lorie) Metheny, all of Bourbon; two grandchildren, Taylor and Tarann Metheny, both of Bourbon; and two sisters, Doris (and spouse Robert) Kepler, Culver, and Betty (and spouse Cliff) Stevenson, Bourbon. He was preceded in death by a brother, Clarence Metheny.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Deaton-Clemens Funeral Home, 115 S. Main St., Bourbon, officiated by the Rev. Gary Hinkle of Bremen Missionary Church and the Rev. Stormy Scherer-Berry of Bourbon First United Methodist Church. Burial will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Bourbon.
Calling is from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
