SOUTH BEND - Camilia M. Martindale, 94, formerly of Syracuse, died May 3, 2007, in Milford Regional Hospital, Milford, Mass.

She was born on Dec. 18, 1912, in South Bend, to Frank and Josephine Mikula Nowak. In 1934, she married Frank Swartz Jr., who died July 14, 1964. In 1968, she married Martin "Herb" Martindale, who died March 9, 2003.

She was a member of St. Martin de Porres Church, Syracuse, Daughters of Isabella and M.R. Falcons.

Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Jerome (Mary Jo) Plencner, South Bend, and Mrs. Tom (Mardell) Fermi, Uxbridge, Mass.; three sons: William "Bill" Martindale, Flint, Mich.; Larry Martindale, Syracuse; and Ted Martindale, Nappanee; 25 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; a sister, Patricia DeMarco, New Carlisle; and a brother, Francis J. Nowak, South Bend. She was preceded in death by a daughter and 11 brothers and sisters.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Holy Family Catholic Church. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery.

Calling is from 4 to 8 Wednesday at Zahoran Funeral Home, South Bend, with a rosary service at 4:30 p.m.
