A girl who drowned Friday night in Warsaw remains in critical condition in the intensive care unit and is responding to treatment, according to an update Sunday afternoon from the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office.
At approximately 8:42 p.m. Friday, Kosciusko County emergency personnel received a call of a possible drowning at 986 Raintree Road, Warsaw.
The victim was an 11-year-old girl who was swimming with a sibling in a pool, according to information provided by the KCSO.
For an unknown reason, the girl jumped into the water and did not surface. She was pulled out of the water by family members.
Emergency personnel arrived on scene and began treating her for her injuries. She was flown to Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne for further treatment.
