The Wawasee athletic department named Eastside’s Mike Eshbach as the Warriors’ new football coach Tuesday. He replaces Josh Ekovich, who stepped down from the position last month. Taking over at Eastside (located in Butler) in 2008 Eshbach complied a 46-49 record, including a 22-10 overall record, 20-2 in the Northeast Corner Conference, with three conference titles in the last three seasons. Eastside won five sectional games in Eshbach’s tenure.

LAGRANGE – Momentum swung Lakeland’s way late in Monday night’s Class 3A softball sectional opener, but not enough to keep the fourth-ranked Wawasee Lady Warriors from advancing to tonight’s semifinals.
