SYRACUSE – Wawasee’s Hunter Hlutke has signed his letter of intent to continue his academic and football careers at Trine University.
Warsaw Tiger multi-sport athlete Dane Stookey announced his intention to continue his studies and athletic participation next fall at Manchester University where he will compete for the Spartans’ track and field team.

GOSHEN – The softball games between Goshen and Wawasee scheduled for April 27 and May 14 will be the “Strike Out Cancer Night.”
SYRACUSE – The Manchester Lady Squires scored six runs in the first two innings Friday and cruised to a 10-0 high school softball win at Wawasee. After plating one run in the first inning, Manchester took a commanding lead with five runs in the second, later adding three runs in the sixth and one in the seventh.
COLUMBIA CITY – Playing its third game in as many days, Warsaw’s varsity baseball team jumped out to a big lead and then held off the Columbia City Eagles Friday evening.
In the first meet of the season, the Warsaw boys track and field team defeated Elkhart Memorial 66-61 Thursday evening.
A strength of Warsaw’s varsity girls tennis team is its singles lineup.
WINONA LAKE – Three home runs were not enough for Grace’s baseball team on Thursday as the Lancers lost twice to Taylor. Grace dropped an action-packed opener 11-5 before losing 13-1 in the second game.
GOSHEN – Grace College’s softball team missed a chance to win twice on the road, settling for a split at Goshen College on Thursday.

The Warsaw Tigers got on the board early, and then were able to hold off county rival Tippecanoe Valley after the Vikings made a late rally Wednesday in the baseball season opener for both teams.
AKRON – On Wednesday night, the Triton girls tennis team won 4-1 over Tippecanoe Valley. In what was the season opener for each team, the Lady Trojans saw victories from their No. 1 and No. 2 singles players and both doubles en route to the victory.

SOUTH WHITLEY – The Wawasee and Whitko baseball teams faced the cold weather Tuesday night for a nonconference matchup. The host Wildcats struck early, but could not hold the lead, as the Warriors won 7-4.
WINONA LAKE – Scott Blum announced Tuesday that he has resigned as the head coach of Grace College’s women’s basketball team.
