Erin Elizabeth Love, 36, Akron, died at 4:57 p.m. Feb. 14, 2018, at her residence. She was born May 27, 1981, in Rochester, to Charles and Darlene Sparks Drudge. On Dec. 31, 2004, in Miami County, she married Eric Michael Love. She lived in Akron all of her life. She graduated from Tippecanoe Valley High School in 1999.

Ardith J. Smythe, 85, rural Warsaw, died at 11:40 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 14, 2018, at Mason Health Care, Warsaw. She was born Jan. 20, 1933, in Liberty Mills, to John and Pearl Metzger Helvey. On Nov. 19, 1950, in Warsaw, she married Gene E. Smythe. He died Sept. 12, 1993.

Patricia A. Radecki Kissinger, 80, Mentone, died at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 15, 2018, at her residence.

Gwenlyn E. “Gwen” Carter, 87, died at 6:15 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 15, 2018, in Kosciusko Community Hospital, Warsaw.

Lanny Michael Lane, 79, a lifetime Warsaw resident, was called home by his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, at 11:55 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 13, 2018. He was born in Warsaw on Dec. 16, 1938, to Lester “Jack” Lane and Jules Blue Lane. The youngest of six Lane children, Lanny was raised in his family’s home and graduated from Warsaw High School.

Russell J. “Russ” Moore, 92, Leesburg, passed away at 9:25 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 13, 2018, at Mason Health and Rehabilitation Center, Warsaw. He was born Dec. 5, 1925, in Fort Wayne, to William Earl and Frances I. Kline Moore. He attended South Side High School in Fort Wayne and was a United States Navy veteran. On Sept. 7, 1946, in Warsaw, he married Constance J. “Joan” Green, who survives.

James E. “Jamie” Prater, 41, South Whitley, passed away at 3:48 a.m. Feb. 13, 2018, in Kosciusko Community Hospital. He was born in Warsaw on Aug. 5, 1976, to Robert and Judy Roberts Prater. A lifetime resident of Kosciusko County, he had formerly worked in production at Explorer Van and Trail-Lite.

John Kent Surface, New Haven, passed away at 12:57 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 11, 2018, at his residence at the age of 66. He was born Dec. 29, 1951, in Warsaw, to Cornelius Surface and Cameron Irene Brown Surface. John was a 55-year resident of Kosciusko County, where he was a 1970 graduate of Akron High School.

Randall “Randy” Mark Kensell, 58, Fort Myers, Fla., formerly of Warsaw, died Friday, Feb. 9, 2018, in Fort Myers. He was born Oct. 2, 1959, in Alexandria, La., to Raymond and Marcella Kensell. His wife of 35 years, Betty Jo Kensell, survives. Local survivors include a son, Jessie (Bekah) Kensell, Winona Lake.

Stephen Ray Likens, 68, La Palma, Calif., passed away Feb. 2, 2018. He was born March 10, 1949, to Colonel and Josephine Garner Likens. Steve grew up on a small farm south of Pierceton, sharing a common bond with strong family connections and interactions.

Tabatha A. “Tabby” Reber, 41, Warsaw, passed away at 3:33 p.m. Monday, Feb. 12, 2018, at Lutheran Hospital of Indiana, Fort Wayne. She was born July 6, 1976, in Burlington, N.C., to Harold Kent and Elizabeth A. “Ann” Rudd Wrenn.

Gloria Jesus Verteramo, 86, passed away quietly on Saturday, Feb. 10, 2018, in Bethlehem Woods Nursing and Rehabilitation, Fort Wayne. Gloria was born to Victor Egly and Henrietta Guerra Egly on Sept. 24, 1931, in Brownsville, Texas. She was one of five children raised in the family home.

Larry Francis Hairrell, 74, Oakgrove, Ky., formerly of Warsaw, died Monday, Feb. 12, 2018. He was born Sept. 16, 1943, in Lansing, Mich. On Oct. 15, 1967, he married Judith C. Goen.

Tara L. Miller-Draper, 41, Rochester, died at 10:28 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 13, 2018, at her residence after a battle with cancer. She was born Feb. 20, 1976, in Hopkinsville, Ky., to Larry Hightower and Jodi A. Miller.

Nelle R. Heiman, 95, Warsaw, passed away at 3:15 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 10, 2018, at Miller’s Merry Manor, Warsaw. She was born Aug. 9, 1922, in Coloma, Wis., to Harvey and Flora McLaughlin Shafman. She was married on Sept. 18, 1943, in Sparta, Wis., to James A. Heiman, who preceded her in death in 2002.

Larry D. Carey, Warsaw, passed away at 6:33 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 11, 2018, at his residence. Having lived his 89 years well, he was called home by his Savior. He was born Dec. 12, 1928, in Huntington, to Esther Gardner and Fred O. Carey. On July 17, 1948, he was married to the love of his life, Hulleta Jackson, who survives. They spent most of their married lives in the Warsaw area, where they raised their children.

Carol Boden went to be with her Lord on Jan. 26, 2018, at Elmbrook Memorial Hospital, Brookfield, Wis. Carol had just recently moved from Warsaw to Brookfield to be near family members. She was born to Charles and Julia Diamond, Akron, Ohio, on Feb. 23, 1925, and was preceded in death by her parents and siblings. She married Raymond Paul Boden in Barberton, Ohio, on July 4, 1946; he preceded her in death in 2005

John Kent Surface, 66, New Haven, died at 12:57 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 11, 2018, at his residence. He was born Dec. 29, 1951, in Warsaw, to Cornelius and Cameron Irene Brown Surface. John worked at Biomet, Zimmer and Warsaw Coil for many years.

Col. Ronald Paul Dunwell died Jan. 9, 2018, in Culpeper, Va. He was born in Warsaw on May 20, 1930, to Charles and Grace Campbell Dunwell.

Dawn Rena Ginn Grubbs, 41, Akron, died at 7:16 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 10, 2018, at Lutheran Hospital, Fort Wayne. She was born Jan. 2, 1977, in Plymouth, to Leonard and Cindy L. Harper Ginn.

Tabatha A. “Tabby” Reber, 41, Warsaw, died at 3:33 p.m. Monday, Feb. 12, 2018, at Lutheran Hospital of Indiana, Fort Wayne.
