Spineless. Can any other word be used to describe the current Republican majority sitting in our statehouse?

Our organization was recently privileged to have Congressman Jim Banks visit our office and meet with some of our board members and supporters.  I found it rather humorous that when reporting on Congressman Bank’s activities that day, The Times-Union reporter chose to just mention that the Congressman “visited a local anti-abortion organization.”

I am writing this letter to the editor in support of Rocky Goshert for sheriff.

The problem with spending money like it's water is when the pump runs dry.

When we elect people into office, sometimes we will know them personally and other times we have no clue who they are at face value.

Residents of the Kosciusko community are so very fortunate to have not one, but several, qualified candidates for county sheriff to choose from at the election booth in 2018. Any one of the candidates would be a good choice.

I have read both letters about Coach Ogle — Jeff Johnson and Frank Grose. One wrote about basketball, the other wrote about character.

Nationwide CAFOs (Concentrated Animal Feeding Operations) are getting a lot of pushback because of their detrimental effects on neighbors, communities and the environment. It is an issue with which Whitley County is wrestling now.

Michael Hale is an exceptional person. Even though he has been incarcerated for 11 years, he is not a bitter man. He still continues to find ways to help people he loves and try to give something beneficial to others. I know he has done a wonderful thing for me and my family.

The story, last Friday, documenting the community forum about the opioid crisis was illuminating. These are much overdue conversations.

Hillary’s dossier is a false argument intentionally used to deceive. It’s called sophism, an early Greek philosophy. It is full of subterfuge, trickery, fallacy, outright lies and maliciousness.

Sunday, the 25th, was the closing of the eighteen days of the Winter Olympics at Pyeongchang, South Korea.

Gary: Excellent commentary on mass shooting caused by guns. Thank you.

In response to “Is This The America You Want/Rick Badman:

Stalin said that one death is a tragedy. A million deaths are a statistic.

I’m not a film critic, but every school should show this movie: “Wonder.”

OK, I've got to say something. I feel so sorry for the parents who have lost children in yet another school shooting.

The editorial cartoon in the Times-Union (Feb. 6) showed how the NFL's protest has backfired.

Men are at a great disadvantage because they dare not criticize women lest they be labeled misogynists or racists, but the same is not true for women. They can vilify men in every way and it is acceptable.

Men are at a great disadvantage because they dare not criticize women lest they be labeled misogynists or racists, but the same is not true for women.

Democrats claim to love America. But if they had their way, would we have an America we are proud of?
