Residents of the Kosciusko community are so very fortunate to have not one, but several, qualified candidates for county sheriff to choose from at the election booth in 2018. Any one of the candidates would be a good choice.
However, as I follow the campaign, I consistently turn to one candidate that has the experience and personality that I believe would be invaluable in bringing positive change. Tony Ciriello has been a dedicated and successful servant to this community in the public service and law enforcement sectors for nearly 40 years! Tony's insight due to serving on the Drug Task Force, as a DARE officer, past sheriff of Syracuse and his current position of coroner gives him a perspective that cannot be underestimated. His membership in many service organizations has shown his dedication to this community.
Tony's efforts as sheriff would not be limited to, but would certainly include four areas:
Change and reform — Positive change within the department to enable all officers to continue/improve their ability to make a difference in the community they serve
Drug Task Force — Tackle the opioid crisis within our community, with enhanced jail time for drug dealers and services for the addicted.
Professional development of all officers — To enable them to perform their duties at the very highest level as they protect and serve.
Accountability — Personally being a servant to the needs of all of our community — physically and fiscally.
Tony has great ideas for improving our local branch of law enforcement. I am well aware that Tony does not compromise what he believes in — the welfare of our community. He has consistently shown a determination to do the right thing, no matter how difficult or popular. Couple that determination with his vast experience, and you have a real winner — a person that I choose to protect me and my family.
