Editor, Times-Union: So, the YMCA wants to move onto some new ground, hopefully a place with better access than the last tract they were being gifted, or so the rumor goes. At least this site won’t have a driveway wrapping around a church after going through a medical park, because former city officials did not have the foresight to reserve a right of way strip/access road along U.S. 30 although being identified as a growth area on the city’s master plan since the 1960’s.
- Judgmental Letters - Good Response Judgmental Letters Editor, Times-Union: I am sickened at the thought that any survivors of the tragedy in the Gulf Coast region or any of their families and friends will read the letters from Dale Beery, Robert Stichter, or C.L.Hendrix in the Sept.8 edition of the Times-Union. The lack of compassion and the disgustingly judgmental and unChristian-like sentiments might make them think that all of us in this area feel the way they do.I pray to God that the acts of humanity that have been shown in the last couple of weeks by Kosciusko County businesses, churches, and individuals in reaching out to help those whose lives have been devastated will greatly overshadow and outlast the thoughts and ideas expressed in those letters.

- Bible Laws - Recycling Program - One View - Stand Up Bible Laws Editor, Times-Union: In response to Jonathan Mauk's letter of 7/5/06: Dear Mr.Mauk, Thank you for your letters to the Times-Union educating people regarding God's Law.I have learned a great deal from them, and I try to share that knowledge with as many people as I can. When someone tries to defend the homosexual lifestyle, for example, I remind them that Leviticus 18:22 clearly states it to be an abomination.End of debate. I do need some advice from you, however, regarding some of the laws and how to best follow them.
I never needed eyeglasses until my freshman year in high school. The need to wear eyeglasses seemed to come on suddenly. My optometrist at the time told me I was near-sighted.For those who don't know, that means I can't see far away.As it is, right now, without eyeglasses, I can't seem to see more than approximately 10 feet away. But once I started wearing eyeglasses, "I saw the light."I no longer had to sit in the front row in school to see the chalkboard.I could read road signs before I was right in front of them.I could read the bottom row on those charts. No one wants to have to wear glasses or to have their eyesight go bad.But I'm glad there was a way to help me see better.Otherwise, I couldn't read, drive or do the many things I enjoy doing that require good vision. There are some problems with having to wear glasses, obviously. They're not cheap. You have to update them every so often. And I tend to break mine.Frequently.
