Hello, I have never written to the paper before, although I've been tempted on several occasions. For the most part I like the Times-Union and its focus on local news and events.
But just a quick note of disappointment on yesterday's paper. I was through the first section and just started reading the sports, looking for an article on the Players Championship and found nothing, other than some final scores. What I did find was another article on Tiger and his woes.
I felt bad for Tim Clark and all the others who made the tournament exciting and got no press. I'm 53 and have been a fan of Tiger for years, but more importantly I'm a bigger fan of golf period. Yes, I'm disappointed in his judgement and I'm sure not as big a fan of his as I used to be, but that's not my point.
My point is I'm tired of hearing about Tiger, speculation on his personal life, and his struggles on the course. Most of us out here in the real world feel that way. Leave the guy alone and focus on the sport. Golf was great before Tiger and still is no matter what he does or doesn't do. Give the other guys some credit. Their dedication and love of the game deserves much more credit and coverage. Please!
