Letters To The Editor

Editor, Times-Union:Has anyone spoken with their neighbors or relatives about their gas bills a couple of months ago?

Editor, Times-Union: “We” were under attack.  “We” are going under.  Who are we?  Americans.  Agree or disagree, red, white, black or blue we are Americans first.  “We” need to remember that.  No matter how misguided some may be, I’m worried for all Americans.

Editor, Times-Union:Did you ever notice how hard fast food workers toil. We take it for granted as they work virtually on slave wages.

- School Shooting - No Liquor Store - Lakeview Talent - Red Light Cameras School Shooting Editor, Times-Union: This is in response to Michael Stevens' letter on March 14. First off, I like the classic knee-jerk approach you take in your "solution" to kids taking guns to school - "We need more laws!" Beautiful justification for murder - as if taking a gun to school and killing someone is a proper response to bullying, if there even was any "bullying" going on in this situation. How idiotic are you? Is that the answer, really? Kids get in trouble for fighting, there's already rules in place.

- School Issue - U.S.30 School Issue Editor, Times-Union: It seems that every day there is something in the paper regarding the Warsaw Community School Board, school closing and new school buildings. You hear people for and against and in my honest opinion, no matter what course of action is decided upon, there will be people for and against the final decision. Warsaw has an elected school board which means that we the people of Kosciusko County voted for the board that is now slated. While I'm not saying that we should not voice our opinions, ultimately, the board has the authority to close schools no matter what our opinions are.Building new schools however, is something different.

Editor, Times-Union:Is there a person or persons that would purchase the Little Crow building and turn it into a cultural arts center? Different artists could rent out areas for their studios for galleries and workshops. This could include jewelers and people with upscale specialty items.

Editor, Times-Union:The left has a perverse way of giving nice names to lies. Do you really believe the people of China control the People’s Republic of China and not the government? And why is the Affordable Care Act so unaffordable for millions?

Editor, Times-Union:I have read Mr. Metzger’s letter. My response is as follows:

Editor, Times-Union:In answer to Ray Webster's question if there are any Jonas Clarks leading churches: No, Ray, there are not.

- Vegetarians - Politics - Artist Says Thanks - Fair Retreat - Prosecutor's Race - Animal Welfare - Seeing Both Sides Vegetarians Editor, Times-Union: Ms.Heather Michael, I, again, put pen to paper in contention with something you have written. As I recall, at no time did I attack your personal beliefs.I believe what I said was that your priorities needed adjustment. In my opinion a discussion on the inhumane treatment of livestock is frivolous when there are much greater problems facing our nation.

- Truth Or Fiction - Critical Of Police Work Truth Or Fiction Editor, Times-Union: My college philosophy professor told of a conversation between a movie director and a pastor. The pastor was bemoaning the lack of attendance at his church, and remarked, "Why is it that you are breaking records of attendance at your movies, and I have having such a small attendance?" The movie director replied, "I present fiction as though it were truth; You present truth as though it were fiction.

- Close Call - Respect Others - Annexation - Go Tigers - Thanks To Voters - Good Samaritans - Pizza Night Close Call Editor, Times-Union: On Nov.22 around 1:30 p.m.while traveling north on Ind.13 south of Pierceton, a dark green SUV pulled out at me.If I hadn't stepped on the gas, you would have hit me broadside.Instead, you hit me on the back side of the car and I took off flying down the crossover road. I don't know who you are, but you could have stopped to see how much damage you did and if everything was OK.I'm close to retirement and now I have to spend my hard-earned money to fix my car that you didn't have the courtesy to stop.

Editor, Times-Union:I am supporting Republican Curt Nisly for state representative.
