Boycott Gas Stations?

Posted
Editor, Times-Union:

If the oil companies are doing what any company would do in a free market, that is, raising prices to the highest levels the market will bear, then as citizens in that same free market, here is a suggestion to combat the rising prices.

What if no one bought gas at a BP station in Warsaw for the next month? Just using BP as an example. What if, across the nation, BP sold only a fraction of the gas or diesel it would normally sell in the next month, while the public bought gas at any other station. Then, after a period of time, pick another chain and boycott that one for a while. I wonder what effect that might have on the price of gas or diesel?

If the big boys at the oil companies had an idea they might be next, maybe they would reign in the runaway pricing we are now seeing. Supply and demand, grassroots style.
