Letters To The Editor

Editor, Times-Union:In response to R. Wayne Snider's letter about the March 2 Doonesbury comic strip, I would like to offer Mr. Snider the definition of the word irony that can be found at Dictionary.com:

- Mystery Writer - Faith - Life Chain - Thanks To Fire Department Mystery Writer Editor, Times-Union: From time to time, leadership of our community have received criticism in the form of an unsigned letter.Such is the case this past week by the Tippecanoe Valley School Board. Normally we take little notice to the comments of someone that will not identify themselves, much like the editorial letters policy of this newspaper. The missing signature signifies the unwillingness to further examine the situation, the closed-minded assumption that the writer has all of the information relative to the situation, and possibly the lack of enough interest in the situation to help in the solution.

- Life Chain - Pierceton School - License Plates - Health Fair Thanks Life Chain Editor, Times Union: Kosciusko County Right to Life would like to express appreciation to each of the 306 individuals who participated in the Life Chain on Oct.5. Those of us who are pro life do not enjoy opposing abortion. It is draining, time consuming and at times discouraging; it subjects us to frequent criticism. Our lives would be easier, much more pleasant, if we could pretend that babies aren't dying. But we cannot.Much as we wish it were otherwise, abortion kills children.

- Speed Limits Speed Limits Editor, Times-Union: It's common knowledge that you can drive over the posted speed limit by 10 to 15 miles per hour and for the most part not get ticketed. The trouble is, if you drive the speed limit - these things are going to happen - you are going to be tailgated, passed on yellow lines and endanger oncoming traffic. I am asking law enforcement to crack down on the problem so that those of us who wish to obey posted speed limit signs can do so and not be intimidated and run over by those who disregard and ignore laws.
