LCA

Editor, Times-UnionThanks to the Times-Union for reporting Lakeland Christian Academy's SAT scores along with those of area public schools. We are proud of our student's accomplishments and delighted to have them recognized. In addition to top test scores, LCA offers a low 11:1 student-to-teacher ratio. Our modern building and grounds are well maintained and our teachers are top-notch with many having advanced degrees. More importantly, we are free to teach from a Biblical world view with God in the center of all our learning and that is an important distinctive. We are accredited by the Association of Christian Schools International and the North Central Association. LCA's graduation requirements meet or exceed those of the Indiana State Department of Education Core 40. Also, we are now offering accredited online courses to everyone at www.lcacougars.com Check out our updated Web site for that and other information about LCA.Our mission statement is this: Lakeland Christian Academy exists to provide a biblically centered education environment so that its students may be equipped to become Christ-honoring members of their families, churches and communities. If you are a parent who wants this to be the focus of their child's education, please consider LCA. Thank you,John UrschalitzParent & Board MemberWarsaw, via e-mail

Editor, Times-Union:This letter is in response to the current ISTEP uproar. There are several honor roll students who show failing results on the current “open ended” format test sessions.

- Indispensable Farmers - Farmers' Market Indispensable Farmers Editor, Times-Union: Much has been said concerning the farmers getting their crops out late this year, because of so much rain.We got lots of rain and not much snow this year.We could not live without the farmers. You wouldn't be eating the corn on the cob like people are buying today.I made a scalloped corn casserole yesterday that I love and it's healthy for me.

- Lighting - Freedoms - Organ Donation - Free Enterprise - Smart Guns - Bronze Star - CR 450N Lighting Editor, Times-Union: The November 1 letter about outdoor lighting from Alan Mitterling is on target.Outdoor lighting practices are increasingly drawing scrutiny with good reason.

- Invest In Life - School Obituary - Removing God - Price Of Fuel Invest In Life Editor, Times-Union: You know ...I start a lot of my sentences this way ...I think from pure frustration more than anything. I just read where women in California are still abandoning their children. What is so ironic is they have a surrender law there with no prosecution.Well, hello! Explain to me why people when given the options still opt to be non-committal to another human being? Do you think we will ever go back to a time when people took responsibility for their actions? Doubt it.If that sounds pessimistic I'm truly sorry. Let's take a gander view of why I think we will never return to those times. Kids no longer are told "no," it might hurt their psyche.

Editor, Times-Union:I did it. I really pulled it off.

Editor, Times-Union:This is an open letter to our Congressional Representatives and Senators protesting an attack of Syria and taking sides in a sectarian conflict.

Editor, Times-Union:"You know, when I campaigned here in 2000, I said, I want to be a war president.

Editor, Times-Union:We all remember where we were Sept. 11, 2001.

- Rights Violated - Bounty System Flawed - Silver Lake Cookbook - Abortion - Guard Deployed - No Sledding - Cardinal Center Volunteers Rights Violated Editor, Times-Union: By now everyone has either seen the video or heard the story of the family traveling in Tennessee on New Year's Day, where a man was handcuffed and put in back of a police car, his wife and child were handcuffed at the back of their station wagon and big Bulford comes running up with a shotgun beside the police car, Patton the dog jumps out of the car, wagging his tail, three seconds later, the dog's head is blown off. There is more to this story than you see or hear on the TV.

Editor, Times-Union:There appeared recently in area papers a letter written by Judge Jarrette, the judge of Kosciusko Superior Court 2, who is being challenged for re-election.
