- Eye Bank Eye Bank Editor, Times-Union: At A recent meeting of the Milford Lions Club, an official of the Indiana Lions Eye and Tissue Transplant Bank told of the increased number of corneal transplants given to people whose sight had deteriorated. The cornea is the clear outer covering of the eye - sometimes coned, vision is diminished. The remedy is to stitch in place a clear cornea, and vision is almost immediately improved. However, the new cornea must come from a donated eye; synthetic ones have not yet been successful.

- Tough Season Tough Season Editor, Times-Union: It certainly has been a tough season for those of us who follow the football Tigers. As a former coach I can feel the pain and hurt of both the coaching staff and the players. It just doesn't seem like I'm doing enough by sitting in the stands and cheering.I'd rather be down on the field encouraging and giving slaps on the back.

Editor, Times-Union:Mr. Kitson hit the nail on the head about Barack Hussein Obama.

Editor, Times-Union:It seems that the main concern in these final days before the election is the condition of our economy and there is fear that our “way of life” and the freedom to prosper is being threatened.

Perhaps men are not objecting strongly enough, nor controlling the money supply in this country. The ad that really gets me going is the one that has a sleepy wife telling a husband he's a moron because he believes that he shouldn't have to pay the phone bill if someone else initiates the calling. You know the one.

Editor, Times-Union:Well, everyone in town now has a good taste of the kind of leadership we can expect to have in the next four years if we don’t get busy and vote them out!

Editor, Times-Union:Having read many of the letters to the editor concerning the Warsaw Schools referendum, we agree with Jim Merritt.

Editor, Times-Union:OK, here's the situation as I understand it.

Editor, Times-Union:On the eighth of this month, I asked several questions to David Kolbe, about his stance on RFRA. To this date, he has not replied publicly or privately to me on any question.

Editor, Times-Union:The following is my definition for Freedom of the Media and the sources of information that I used in developing this definition.

Editor, Times-Union:I think it is very important to exercise. How much TV watching or video game playing have you been doing lately? You may not realize the importance of exercising until you need to go on a diet. Instead, let’s get up off the couch and go exercise!

- Gas Prices - Life - Victim's Impact - Legion Thanks Gas Prices Editor, Times-Union: Well, they've done it again.Have our gas distributors no conscience? What in the thunder can be their excuse for jumping the price 3-4 cents per gallon? Left town Thursday afternoon and noticed the price was up, so I thought I'd just check south.Sure enough, fuel was 87.9 per gallon. So naturally, the conservative that I am, filled up my big tank in Marion.

Editor, Times-Union:This letter will focus specifically on the topic of mandated abortion in the potential nationalized health care plan as it is currently written.

- Polston Says Thanks - Organ Donation - Too Many Republicans Polston Says Thanks Editor, Times-Union: To my constituents of district five and the City of Warsaw: I wish to thank you for the privilege of serving you over the past eight years. My decision not to run for this upcoming election is based on my physical status, along with the urging and support of my family. After my decision to run for my first term was made and before election, my wife Yolanda started compiling a scrap book on all my goals. Recently, after reviewing this, I found that all but one of my short and long term goals had been met.The only one that I still desire to see fulfilled is that of a new sewer plant.

Editor, Times-Union:In reading Jeff Sanders letter I agree with him on one point and that is, "God Bless every American."

Editor, Times-Union:I want to make you and your readers aware of a scam that is going on via Craig's List.

- Hardly Abusive - Special Election - Career Moves - BZA Complaint Hardly Abusive Editor, Times-Union: "My, oh my, what is wrong with today's youth?" many people say.Well could it be that there is absolutely nothing wrong with the kids, but perhaps faulty parenting by people who refuse to teach their children to act appropriately and letting them get away with rude and unruly behavior beginning at a very young age? I was raised by people who taught me how to behave and how to have respect for others.I must say, those lessons have served me very well and have gotten me a long way in life.
