Editor, Times-Union: Well, everyone in town now has a good taste of the kind of leadership we can expect to have in the next four years if we don’t get busy and vote them out! Our zoning board decided that because there are homes across the tracks behind a building that preforms a service that they think has an offensive name, they should not have a sign facing the opposite direction advertising their trade. This is a great example of people that are holding us back as a city and trying to impose their beliefs on all of us. It seems to me we are placing our future in the hands of names we recognize rather than those that have a vision and could bring in a more diverse population that enjoys all that our world has to offer and not the (status quo). On that note our mayor should be a leader and not sit back. He should listen to his people. Read the paper, mayor, and stand up to the board and say (hey nobody cares about the sign) (it has caused no harm) but no. He stands down and says the zoning board is separate from my office and they make the rules. You do not qualify to run a beauty pageant much less a city with a $20,000,000 per year budget. We need to change our so-called leaders this fall before we lose the right to fly our flag on certain days because the zoning board says it’s wrong and our great leader says well, I can’t argue with them they are a (quasi judicial board) that would be inappropriate. This is the kind of leader you get when you elect a accountant or eye doctor and not a business man who knows how to say, “No, stop, you’re wrong, you’re fired!” I, for one, want my money back from what we have paid you people to run our city. And by the way, what makes Warsaw a great place to live is not the town, it’s the people. This was a great place in 1956 when I was born and it still is because we have the nicest people you will ever be lucky enough to call neighbor Michael Alspaugh Warsaw, via e-mail
