- Chapman Lake Success - Wonderful Concert - Government Efficiency Chapman Lake Success Editor, Times-Union: Volunteer organizations have many members who participate only because it is their desire that the group succeed and continue on the right track toward whatever goal they have set together. Most seek and want no recognition for what they do.Their only desire is to contribute to a successful venture. This year, at Chapman Lake, there were an abundance of volunteers who stepped forward to assist us when the going got tough July 4th prior to the annual fireworks display, and, again, afterward when we needed to do some things we had not planned to do and for which we were not prepared.

- Older Generation - Hot Summer - Support The Troops Older Generation Editor, Times-Union: Do you like to hear people say, "You can't teach an old dog new tricks?" People refer this to the older generation. Why is it that younger people think that older people are set in their ways? As one looks back on one's life, are we ever set in our ways? Having looked back on one's life, this person went to grade school in the deep depression, where everyone was poor and we were glad to have clothes and shoes to wear to school. No one was any better than the other. During one's high school years, 1941-45, we experienced World War II, where our lives were changed.A very great change in our lives at that time. Our thoughts were not on ourselves but on our service people.
- Glad Or Sad? - Hunting Controversy - Hunting Preserve - Agriculture Glad Or Sad? Editor, Times-Union: When God looks at me, at you, what do we think he thinks? Is he glad or sad? There is a Bible verse (Romans 8:26) which reads that God's spirit pleads for us with yearnings which cannot be described. Now go and look at his son, Jesus, hanging on the cross, crucified for your sins and mine, to make the way to Heaven a possibility for you and me.In less than a month, Feb.13, we enter the Lenten season, which leads us to Jesus on the cross and then on to Easter.

- Hospital Trail Safety - Exposed! Hospital Trail Safety Editor, Times-Union: My husband and I took a walk tonight to the hospital trail behind KCH.We live on Harrison Street.I don't understand why they can't make a safety path that leads to the trail. There is all that open space that would be perfect for a walking path. They have put a path halfway but I don't understand why they don't finish it.I see so many people cut through the grass to get to the trail and it would make so much sense to just finish this path.

- Limited Consciousness - Sports Salaries - Food-A-Thon - Fabulous Idea Limited Consciousness Editor, Times-Union: We are all the same soul, the same spirit, the same consciousness, the same energy. We all have so much more in common than we realize.I am you, and you are me, and we are we, and we are all together to use the words of John Lennon. This is the all-inclusive view of our expanded consciousness.Cosmic consciousness knows no exclusion. The realization of this reality is the very essence of our Oneness ... However, the root cause of our separation or division is an illness with a suitable name - extremely limited consciousness.Unfortunately, a very high percentage of humankind is afflicted with this illness and most are unaware of it.
