Political Move

Posted
Editor, Times-Union:
What a brilliant political move for Mr. Adams to take the focus off of important issues. My last pay raise was in 2009; voluntarily because I wanted the town staff to receive raises. My salary is $53,930 with longevity pay of $2,250. I work 40-50 hours a week; am eligible for four weeks of vacation and usually take one. During preparation of town events, I work about 60 hours a week. But I am not alone in these work ethics, the town staff-street, Tim, Rich, Todd, Dan, Scott; office, Ellen, Kimberly; police, Joe, Mike, Malcolm, Brad, police reserves and all the fire department volunteers-all give above and beyond. They have this commitment because of the supervisors’ leadership- Pete O’Connell, Dick Leaf, Paul Schmitt, Craig Allebach, Holly Hummitch and Mitch Titus. In a small community, you chip in and help wherever and whenever you can because you love your community and want what is best. We are YOUR servants! You will see Craig out cleaning the greenway. Pete is constantly assisting residents with any issue- on off hours. This dedication as nurtured, demonstrated and appreciated by our previous council members- Jerry Clevenger, Dave Delp, Craig Snow, Jeff Carroll, Rolly Ortega, Jim Lancaster, John Boal and Joy Lohse and countless other town committee members. A big thank you to all! Thank you to John and Kent for the question Wednesday night. It gave me this opportunity to share. Winona Lake, do you want a politician or a servant as clerk-treasurer?
