Editor, Times-Union:In all of Obama's expensive campaign speeches, he has not explained why his party and himself have done nothing to improve our living the last four years.

Editor, Times-Union:I just read the front page of today's Times-Union (Tuesday, August 3), and was appalled ...

Winter last year was cold.The roads were bad.I enjoyed the snowfall but wished it stayed off the roadways.Winter this year may be worse, depending on who you want to believe.

Guns save more lives than they take; prevent more injuries than they inflict. 1.Law-abiding citizens use guns to defend themselves against criminals as many as 2.5 million times every year, or about 6,850 times a day.This means that each year, firearms are used more than 60 times more often to protect the lives of honest citizens than to take lives. 2.Of the 2.5 million self-defense cases, as many as 200,000 are by women defending themselves against sexual abuse.

Editor, Times-Union:I have recently been seeing a lot of letters concerning child support.
This morning it was 19 degrees at our airport … a new record low for April 3. Last year at this time we started our spring cleanup program in the 70- and 80-degree days of March.
- Religious Freedom - Responds To Wolkins - Questions Religious Freedom Editor, Times-Union: This is the third part of my letter dealing with with the subject of freedom of religion.The previous two parts were printed in the Times-Union Sept.8 and Oct.14 with a list of 27 sources of information that were used to develop a definition or guiding principle, most of those sources of information are available at the Warsaw Community Public Library for those who would be interested in doing their own research.
Editor, Times-Union:The idea of creating all these jobs is wonderful. The problem is in building roads and bridges takes highly skilled trades. I doubt that there are very many people that are laid off from upper management that have the knowledge or skills to run a earth mover, bulldozer or scraper. About the only thing that might be in their skill level is running a hand shovel. I am not making fun of their skills, but there is little or none of those jobs required.
Editor, Times-Union: So according to Terry Bartley, chairman of the Kosciusko County Democrats, he believes in Democrats meeting to discuss public items in closed-door sessions.
