Youth Bureau Announces Move To K21 Pavilion

Posted
Kosciusko Cares Youth Services Bureau has moved its offices to the K21 Health Services Pavilion in Warsaw.

The K21 Health Services Pavilion is home to a variety of non-profit tenants and programs which offer health-related services and meet the needs of the community. The building is designed to help Kosciusko County residents by providing a single location for multiple health and social service agencies. The new office at 1515 Provident Drive is on the second floor next to the BABE Boutique.

The office had been located on Center Street for the past year.

Kosciusko Cares Youth Services Bureau’s  strategy is based on the public health model of evidence-based prevention.

Programs and strategies are designed to serve children ages 3 to 17 and their families.

In the past 12 months, the youth services bureau served 1,211 children, teens and adults through three programs: Al’s Pals, Botvin Life Skills Training Program and Strengthening Families.

Evaluation of the local programs have shown positive results and return on investment, according to a news release provided by Kosciusko Cares. Research has shown that, when implemented with sufficient intensity, saturation and fidelity, evidence-based prevention saves $2 in societal costs for every dollar spent, the release states.

The mission of Kosciusko Cares Youth Services Bureau is to advocate for, support and promote healthy youth development.

“We are super excited about the opportunities our new location offers for partnerships, collaborating with other service agencies, and even more excited about serving more youth and families throughout the new school year,” said Marsha J. Carey, director of the bureau.

Kosciusko Cares Youth Services Bureau is sponsored by the Otis R. Bowen Center, and home to the Drug Free Kosciusko Coalition and the iCARE high school youth coalition.
