NORTH MANCHESTER – Virgil R. Frantz, 93, North Manchester, died at 3:43 a.m. Sept. 13, 2013, in Peabody Healthcare Center, North Manchester. He was born June 12, 1920, in Wabash County, to Glen R. and Opal May Anderson Frantz. On Aug. 2, 1946, he married Nellie P. Barton, who died Nov. 14, 1994. On Aug. 29, 1996, he married Karen Metzger Bennett, who survives. He was a member of Old German Baptist Brethren Church, North Manchester. Also surviving are a son, Joe Frantz, Tipp City, Ohio; a daughter, Gail (and spouse Fred) Gish, Claypool; two sons, LaMar Bennett, North Manchester, and LaMont Bennett, Sidney; a stepdaughter, Lisa Bennett, Nappanee; three sisters: Ruth (and spouse Dennis) Landes, New Carlisle, Ohio; Velma (and spouse Don) Hantelman, Silver Lake; and Carolyn Frantz, North Manchester; nine grandchildren; four stepgrandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren. Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday in Old German Baptists Brethren Church, North Manchester, with Home Brethren officiating. Burial will be in Old German Baptist Brethren Cemetery, North Manchester.
