Sue Anne Gast Gilbert died Jan. 21, 2010, in her residence in Bella Vista, Ark.
She was born Jan. 17, in Warsaw, to Robert P. and Geneva Gast. In 1974, she married Raymond Olen Gilbert, who survives.
She graduated from Warsaw High School in 1957, and from Northwestern University in 1961. She taught English and sponsored the student newspaper at Glenbrook North High School, Northbrook, Ill. She retired to Bella Vista in 2000, where she was involved in many community activities, serving recently as president of her local Guild of the Arkansas Hook-Crafters Chapter.
Also surviving are three brothers: Dan, Jim and Steve Gast, all Warsaw; and two daughters: Brooke Leigh (and spouse Sanford) Young, Chicago, Ill., and Deidre Lynn Sanford, Lisle, Ill. She was preceded in death by a brother.
A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Bella Vista Community Church.
