COLUMBIA CITY - Ruthanna G. Chamness, 88, of Warsaw, died at 7:05 p.m. Oct. 11, 2010, in Grace Village, Winona Lake.
She was born Sept. 7, 1922, in Wabash County, to Fred Andrew and Hazel Marie Oswalt Gurtner. On June 28, 1953, in Wabash, she married Robert Morris Chamness, who preceded her in death.
She graduated from Urbana High School. In 1962, she moved to Warsaw where she co-owned and -operated Chamness Funeral Home. She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church.
Surviving are two granddaughters; and two great-granddaughters. She was preceded in death by a son, a brother and a sister.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Trinity United Methodist Church, Warsaw. A private burial will be in Friends Cemetery, Wabash.
Calling is from noon to 2 p.m. Saturday at the church.
Smith & Sons Funeral Home, Columbia City, is in charge of arrangements.
