SOUTH WHITLEY - Ruby M. Kinney, 94, formerly of South Whitley, died Sept. 3, 2007, in her daughter's home in Nappanee.
She was born May 6, 1913, in Elkhart County, to the Rev. Joseph and Grace Letherman Fisher. On Sep. 15, 1940, she married Robert C. Kinney, who died Sept. 3, 2000.
She attended Nappanee High School and graduated from Madison Township High School, Saint Joseph County, in 1931. She moved to South Whitley from Goshen in 1952, then to Nappanee to live with her daughter in 2000. She was a homemaker and a member of St. John's Lutheran Church and the Get Together Club, Nappanee.
Surviving are three daughters: Carol Heckaman, Bremen; Mrs. Ernest (Helen) Flamm, Dayton, Ohio; and Betty Kinney, Nappanee; a son, Eldon Kinney, Silver Lake; a sister, Mrs. Howard (Berniece) Berger, Nappanee; a brother, Wendell Fisher, Wakarusa; seven grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, four brothers, and a sister.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Smith & Sons Miller Chapel, South Whitley, with the Rev. David Stephey officiating. Burial will be in South Whitley Cemetery.
Calling is from 2 to 8 p.m. Thursday and one hour prior to the service Friday at the funeral home.
