AKRON – Ron J. Shockey,77, Silver Lake, died at 7 p.m. March 27, 2016, at his residence. He was born Dec. 11, 1938, in Grant County, to Robert and Rosa Jane Rich Shockey. On June 10, 1956, in Marian, he married Nancy Bradford, who survives in Silver Lake. He was a carpenter, building houses around Tippy Lake and North Manchester. He had also worked for Foster Forbes Glass, Marian, for several years. He was a graduate of Marian High School in 1956 and also from business management school in Hartford, Conn. He enjoyed making toys for the Shriners Hospital for Children and Riley Children's Hospital. The family of Ron would like to say a special thank you for all the care that was given to him by Kosciusko Home Care and Hospice. Also surviving are one daughter, Karen Eis, Point Isabelle, Texas; one son, Ronald II (and spouse Sherri) Shockey, North Manchester; his father, Robert Shockey, Point Isabelle, Texas; six grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his mother, Rosa Jane Shockey, and one daughter, Katherine Morris By Ron's request, there will be no services planned at this time.
