NORTH MANCHESTER – Roger W. Gheen, 76, of North Manchester, died at 8:50 a.m. May 17, 2012, in  Peabody Healthcare Center, North Manchester.

He was born March 30, 1936, in Columbus, Ohio, to Harold R. and Bertha L. Metzger Gheen.

He was a manager and mechanic for several marinas and later was a river tour boat captain in Lake Havasu, Ariz. He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1961-65. He graduated from Grove City (Ohio) High School. He was a member of American Legion Post 286, North Manchester, and the National Rifle Association.

Surviving are two sons, Mike and Marvin Gheen, both of North Manchester; a daughter, Peggy (and spouse Ralph) Bradley, North Manchester; a brother, Thomas (and spouse Jill) Gheen, Dayton, Ohio; and three grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a sister.

No services or calling are planned. Burial will be at a later date in West Jefferson, Ohio.
