The future arrival of a Rise ‘n Roll Bakery in the shopping center north of U.S. 30 along Ind. 15 north of Warsaw is expected to boost the hopes and satisfy the palettes of other nearby retailers.
The long-awaited decision by Rise ‘n Roll about the location surfaced earlier this week months after the company announced intentions to open an operation in Warsaw.
The only hint a company spokesperson gave when it was first announced in April was that it would be located in a high-traffic area.
Its location near the Lowe’s and Walmart stores north of U.S. 30 seems to make good business sense being just blocks from what might be the busiest intersection in Kosciusko County.
Rise ‘n Roll, known for its sugary powdered doughnuts, has numerous stores north of Warsaw.
The Warsaw store will occupy space once used by Angelo’s Pizza and adjacent to the UPS Store, where employees had already caught wind of the announcement.
Page Hubner, a clerk at UPS, smiled when asked about the news.
“We’re going to have to get different colored shirts,” Hubner said as she pretended to dust off doughnut dust off her black and green shirt.
She said she thinks the addition of the store will be good for UPS and other surrounding retailers.
“It’ll drive traffic,” she said.
Employees at another nearby store are also enthused.
“All of us here are pretty excited about that,” said Kylie Carpenter, a stylist for Great Clips, a hair salon located in the same building. “Their doughnuts are delicious.”
Rise ‘n Roll Warsaw store has a dedicated Facebook page, which announced the location.
A spokesperson at the company’s corporate offices in Middlebury said no opening date has been set.
