ARGOS – Richard Eugene Zentz, 82, of 17315 Tomahawk Trail, Plymouth, died at 11:49 p.m. Oct. 7, 2011, in Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center, Mishawaka, after a brief illness.
He was born Feb. 2, 1929, in Bourbon, to Claude and Eva Kelsey Zentz. On April 3, 1948, he married Jennie Becknell, who survives.
He lived in Argos for 25 years and moved to Plymouth in 1975. He was a factory worker at AM General for 26 years. He was a faithful member and a deacon at Faith Baptist Church, Plymouth. He was a 1947 graduate of Bremen High School. He loved to go fishing and hunting.
Also surviving are three sons: Ted (and spouse Becky) Zentz, Plymouth; Roger B. (and spouse Lori) Zentz, Argos; and Dean (and spouse Deb) Zentz, Warsaw; 14 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and three brothers: Raymond (and spouse Wanda) Zentz, Bremen; Russell (and spouse Mary Ann) Zentz, Hamlet; and James Zentz, Argos. He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Allen Zentz, who died May 23, 2008; and two brothers, Donald and Larry Zentz.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Faith Baptist Church, Plymouth, officiated by the Rev. Paul Whitworth of Faith Baptist Church. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery, Argos.
Calling is from 3 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Earl-Grossman Funeral Home, 208 N. Michigan St., Argos.
