MILFORD - Richard "Dick" L. Erow Sr., 85, of Milford, died Oct. 15, 2010, in his residence.
He was born Nov. 2, 1924, in Plymouth, to Clarence and Grace Drach Erow. On Oct. 5, 1944, he married Bernice Brockus, she survives.
Formerly of Three Rivers, he and his wife moved to Milford 11 years ago. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and playing cards. He really liked wood working and was quite the handy man. He retired from Reith Riley Construction 24 years ago. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and started the first Boy Scout Troop at Queen of Peace, Mishawaka, where he served as Scout Master for many years. He was also a member of the American Legion, Elks Lodge, Moose Lodge and several country clubs. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, who loved and cherished his family. "Pow" as he was known by his grandchildren will be greatly missed.
Also surviving are four children: Richard L. (and spouse Susan) Erow Jr., Chesterton; Alan L. (and spouse Judy) Erow, Michigan City; Marilyn J. (and spouse Victor) Staton, Leesburg; and Teri L. (and spouse Don) Rumsey, Three Rivers, Mich.; eight grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Maxine (Paul) Christiansen, Plymouth. He was preceded in death by his parents; a grandson, Kevin Erow; and a brother, Robert Erow.
A mass of Christian burial will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 125 N. Harrison St, Warsaw, with Father Phil Devolder officiating.
Calling is two hours prior to the service Tuesday at the church.
Mishler Funeral Home, 461 W. CR 900N, Milford, is in charge of arrangements.
