Rex Eugene Snyder, 55, of Warsaw, passed away at 2:30 p.m. March 19, 2013, at his place of business. He was born Dec. 4, 1957, in Warsaw, Phillip and Charlene Zolman Snyder. He married Linda VanDonk, who survives. A lifetime Warsaw resident, he was a 1976 graduate of Warsaw Community High School and attended Purdue University for two years. After graduating high school he worked for Snyder Construction for two years. He was a jeweler and a numismatist. He started his business in 1978 and opened his store, Snyder’s Coins and Jeweler, in 1980. He was a member of National Association of Watches and Clock Collectors Inc. for 21 years, American Numismatic Association for 30 years and the Indiana State Numismatic Association for 30 years. He enjoyed coin collecting, collecting Kosciusko County memorabilia and antiques, traveling and visiting with friends and family. Also surviving are a daughter, Heather Snyder, Warsaw; two sons, Dustin Snyder, LaPorte, and Jon Snyder, Warsaw; grandchildren; Isabella, Jocelyn and Susan; a brother, Rick (and spouse Mary Lou) Snyder, Warsaw; and a sister Cindy (and spouse Steve) Stiver, Warsaw. He was preceded in death by his parents and a son, Scott Snyder. ***** A memorial service will be at a later date. Elkhart Cremation Services is in charge of arrangements.
