WALKERTON – Pauline E. Burch, 93, a Marshall County resident for most of her life, passed away at 8:30 p.m. Jan. 21, 2013, in Miller’s Merry Manor, Walkerton.
She was born Jan. 14, 1920, in South Bend, to Nathan and Laura G. Johnson Baker. On Oct. 21, 1939, in Tyner, she married Dwight Burch, who died in 2008.
She graduated from Tyner High School in 1938. She was a member of the Blissville Church of The Brethren for more than 70 years, and taught children’s Sunday school and vacation Bible school.
She was a loving mother, grandma and great-grandma and was always willing to care for others including her father-in-law and two aunts she cared for many years.
She enjoyed her Polk Township Extention Home Economics Club and in her later years her Bunko group of friends.
She was a waitress at the Welco Truck Stop, Walkerton, for 16 years.
Surviving are two sons, DuWayne P. (and spouse Becky) Burch, North Liberty, and Dennis L. (and spouse Linda) Burch, Mentone; grandchildren: Todd (and spouse Karen) Burch and Tracey (and spouse Tom) Duff, all of Walkerton; Dawn (and spouse Shawn) Campbell, Bremen; Deanna (and spouse Scott) Green and Deborah Burch, all of Fort Wayne; great-grandchildren: Nathan, Eric, Tyler, Trevor, Abby, Zach, Aaron, Isaac, Ellie and Audrey; and two great-great-grandchildren, Kendra and Dwight Burch. She also was preceded in death by her parents.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Blissville Church of the Brethren, 6250 Spruce Trail, Plymouth, with Pastor Dester J. Cummins officiating. Burial will be in Tyner Cemetery.
Calling is from 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday at Johnson-Danielson Funeral Home, 1100 N. Michigan St., Plymouth.
