Opal L. Shepard Poe, 86, Warsaw, passed away at 8 p.m. May 6, 2015, in Kosciusko Community Hospital, Warsaw. She was born June 18, 1928, in Viper, Ky., to Benton and Katy Adams Reynolds. In 1949, she married Jasper Shepard, who died in 1999. She then married James E. Poe, who preceded her in death in 2011. She moved to Warsaw in 1988 from Dade City, Fla. She was a member of Lighthouse Ministries and Living Hope Ministries, Warsaw. Surviving are three daughters: Katie Alvarez and Rebecca Shepherd, both of Warsaw, and Phyllis (and spouse Rick) Gibson, North Webster; three sons: Elbert Clay Shepard, Warsaw; Jasper Paul (and spouse Dewanda) Shepard Jr., Pensacola, Fla.; and George Eugene (and spouse Grace) Shepard, Silver Lake; two brothers, Butler and R.B. Reynolds, both of Hazard, Ky.; three sisters: Mary Reynolds, Knox; Betty Hatcher, Oswego; and Kathy Hatcher, Warsaw; 24 grandchildren; and 42 great-grandchildren. She also was preceded in death by two sisters, two brothers and one grandson. Services will be at noon Monday at Living Hope Ministries, Warsaw, with Pastor Lewis Wedsel Shepherd officiating. Burial is in Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw. Calling is from 10 a.m. to noon Monday at the church.
