ROCHESTER - Monte L. Utter, 64, of 513 N. Troutman Sr., Kewanna, died at 4 a.m. Nov. 27, 2007, in Pulaski Memorial Hospital, Winamac.
He was born Nov. 2, 1943, in Rochester, to Dean and Bernadean Wilsey Utter. On Dec. 12, 1981, at Bruce Lake Station, he married Marcia Marie McClellan, who survives.
Living in Kewanna since 1978, he did small engine repair work. He was a U.S. Army Vietnam veteran and a member of Kewanna Veterans of Foreign Wars. He was a 1961 Akron High School graduate.
Also surviving are two daughters, Jeanne (and spouse Kevin) Goble, Fairmont, and Misty Hayden, Logansport; a son, Monte L. Utter Jr., Marion; a sister, Diana (and spouse Ken) Garrison, Valdosta, Ga.; two brothers, Stanley (and spouse Joan) Utter and Devon Utter, both of Rochester; and three granddaughters. He was preceded in death by an infant daughter.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Good Family Funeral Home, Rochester. Burial will be in Kewanna IOOF Cemetery with military graveside rites by members of the LeRoy Shelton American Legion and the VFW.
Calling is from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday and one hour prior to the service Friday at the funeral home.
