Monica T. Anderson, 86, a former Warsaw resident, died April 1, 2013, in Boca Raton, Fla.
She was born Aug. 19, 1926, in New Brunswick, Canada. She married Kenneth E. Anderson, who died in 1992.
She was well known and respected in the civic and business community in South Florida. As a young flight attendant she became enamored with the tropical lifestyle and in 1952 opened a ladies sport and specialty store, “The Buggie Shop”. It flourished for 25 years and catered to the local country club clientele. An avid golfer herself, she had three “hole in ones” over her lifetime. She spent many summers at the family home on Winona Lake.
Surviving are her three sons: Stephen (and spouse Patti), Warsaw; Michael, Deerfield Beach, Fla.; and James, Fort Walton Beach, Fla.; a sister, Veronica, Rochester, N.Y.; a brother, Aubrey, New Brunswick; eight grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
A private burial will be followed by a celebration of her life at a later date.
