NORTH MANCHESTER – Mary Jane Brooks, 87, Glendale, Ariz., passed away Aug. 26, 2015, at The Gardens of Sun City, Sun City, Ariz. She was born Aug. 29, 1927, in Albion, to Charles O. and Gladys E. Frasier Bowman. On Aug. 29, 1947, she married R. Ned Brooks, who died Dec. 8, 2013. She was a homemaker. She was also a member of the Moose Lodge 1518 and American Legion Auxiliary, both of North Manchester. She will be missed by her family and her friends. Survivors are: two sons, John (and spouse Audrey) Brooks, Golden, Colo., and David Brooks, Glendale; a daughter, Nedra (and spouse David) Simmler, Glendale; two sisters, Janice Gable, Warsaw, and Barbara Grossnickle, Virgina; and five grandchildren. She also was preceded in death by a sister, Beverly Jefferson. Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at McKee Mortuary, 1401 Ind. 114W, North Manchester, with Pastor J.P. Freeman officiating.
