ELKHART – Mary A. Erwin, 93, Elkhart, passed away July 13, 2016, at Hubbard Hill Estates, Elkhart. She was born Jan. 13, 1923, in Elkhart, to Earl and Clara Kramer Campbell. On May 3, 1945, in Elkhart, she married Otho “Jim” Erwin, who preceded her in death Sept. 15, 1999. She graduated from Elkhart High School in 1941. She worked in production at Mile’s Laboratories during World War II and retired after 19 years from Elkhart Community Schools in the cafeteria. She attended Central Christian Church and enjoyed spending time with her family, playing pinochle and reading. Surviving are a son, Steven (and spouse Sandra) Erwin, North Webster; a daughter, Carolyn Stevenson, Elkhart; a daughter-in-law, Mary Caye Erwin, Sutton Bay, Mich.; and seven grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Michael Erwin, and two sisters, Eileen Campbell and Nancy Kochanowski. Services will be at 1 pm. Saturday at Stemm-Lawson-Peterson Funeral Home, Elkhart.
