MARION – Linda S. Zimmerman passed away March 15, 2015.
She was born and raised in Marion to Helen and Allan Zimmerman. She was married to Dr. Evan Feist, who survives.
She received her bachelor’s degree in education from Indiana University and master’s degree in speech pathology from the University of North Carolina. She was past president of Temple Beth El sisterhood and one of the founders of its preschool. As director of the Fresh Start program at Daytona Beach Community College, she helped women get back into the workplace and enhance their lives.
Always active in her communities, she was a board member of the Kosciusko County Tourism Board and founder of the Syracuse Artisans and Farmer’s Market in Syracuse. Her passion was art, and she was an award winning fabric artist. It is said that some people come into our lives and pass quickly, while the special ones linger for a while and leave footprints of love and influence that last forever. She was one of those special people, and for those of us she touched, we are forever blessed.
She also leaves behind four children: Andrew (and spouse Amy) Lowell, Alyson (and spouse Anthony) D’Angelo, Michael (and spouse Ellen) Feist and Dara (and spouse David) Ryan; and seven grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Graveside services and burial will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in Estates of Serenity, Marion.
Arrangements are entrusted to Raven-Choate Funeral Home, 1202 Kem Road, Marion.
