This is written in response to Ms. Stouder's letter complaining about the Letters to the Editor section of the Times-Union. She suggested doing away with this entire section of the paper because she is "annoyed" with some of the content. Personally, I do see some repetition in letters dealing with politics, however people are entitled to their views. That is why it's the "editorial" section.
I'm willing to bet the majority if not all of the readers of this paper do not care about your personal boycott of the Times-Union. If you're worried about wasting your daily pocket change on a newspaper, I think I may have a solution for you. Try reading it on the Internet just like I do. You can read what you want, and if you don't want to read something you just avoid hitting that specific link. Best of all, it's free, problem solved.
You also suggested that the section be replaced by more classifieds. Sorry, there is already a place for that trash in this newspaper. When I read a newspaper I pick it up to see the news, sports and editorials. Not to read a paper version of the Home Shopping Network.
I see a lot of letters written to the paper, however this is one I'm surprised was even published. I'm pretty sure this section is here to stay so you can keep up your personal crusade against it, but I'm 100 percent sure it will end in defeat.
