FORT WAYNE - Jay D. Rice Jr., 51, passed away Feb. 11, 2011, in Parkview Memorial Hospital, Fort Wayne.
He was born in Elkhart, to Jay Sr. and Bonnie Rice, who survive in Elkhart. His wife, Jo Anna Rice, survives in New Haven.
He was an automation engineer at BF Goodrich for five years. He was a member of Joy Fellowship Church, where he taught the Wednesday evening young teen class.
Also surviving are three sons: Jeffery (and spouse Erika) Rice, Indianapolis; Joshua (and spouse Shelby) Rice, Fort Wayne; and Jonathan Rice (and fiancee Stephanie Journay), Warsaw; a daughter, Jessica Rice, New Haven; a granddaughter, Addyson Rice; two grandsons, Britton and Cooper Rice; a sister, Tina (and spouse Chris) Clements, Virginia Beach, Va.; and nieces.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Joy Fellowship Church, 109 Moeller Road, New Haven, with the Rev. Matthias Snodderly officiating.
Calling is from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at D.O. McComb and Sons Lakeside Park Funeral Home, 1140 Lake Ave., Fort Wayne, and one hour prior to the service Wednesday at the church.
