Irene Benson, 73, of Pierceton, died June 27, 2013, in I.U. Health Goshen Hospital. She was born Sept. 22, 1939, in South Bend, to Nicholas and Irene Kovacs Borsodl. She was raised in South Bend and then moved to Kosciusko County in the late 1960s. She was semi retired from Midwest Rake, Warsaw. She also enjoyed sewing, crocheting and doing word search puzzles. Surviving are three daughters: Chris Benson Sampson, Logansport; Vicky Benson Peteria, Warsaw; Nikki (and spouse Rob) Rose, Claypool; six brothers: Tim (and spouse Sandy) Borsodl, Steve (and spouse Barb) Borsodl, Jerry (and spouse Ruth) Borsodl, Bob (and spouse Marie) Borsodl, and Jack (and spouse Pat) Borsodl, all of South Bend, and Nick (and spouse Kathy) Borsodl, Arizona; two sisters, Sue Jackson, Lansing, Mich., and Ella “Toots” Frederick, South Bend; nine grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Eugene Borsodl. Services will be at 3 p.m. Monday at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw. Burial will be at a later date.
