Bailey Jean Shafer, 22 day old infant daughter of Christopher R. and Loretta L. Gross Shafer, Rochester, passed away at 8:55 a.m. March 13, 2016, at South Bend Memorial Hospital. She was born Feb. 20, 2016, in South Bend, and was loved fiercely each day she was able to spend here on earth and will always be cherished. She will be lovingly remembered by her parents, who survive in Rochester, along with her sister, Clementine Shafer. Also surviving are maternal grandmother, Tammy Gross and maternal great-grandmother, Jean Winstead, both of Rochester; paternal grandfather, Gregory Shafer, Warsaw; paternal grandmother, Colleen Shafer, Mentone, and paternal great-grandfather, Ben Shafer, Mancelona, Mich. A memorial service will be at 6 p.m. March 24 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Warsaw, with Bishop Jeff Walters officiating.
