MENTONE - Ima Taylor, 97, formerly of Mentone, died at 3:35 a.m. May 31, 2008, in Miller's Merry Manor, Warsaw, where she resided.
She was born Nov. 19, 1910, in Fulton County, to Charles and Jestena Coplen Taylor. She never married.
A lifetime area resident, she was a homemaker, where she was known to be an excellent cook. She was a member of Mentone Church of Christ. She looked after the elderly people for many years and looked after the community children. She loved and enjoyed flowers, sewing, reading and cooking.
Surviving are a niece, Dora (and spouse Noble) Mentzel, Tippecanoe; special friends, Linda and Bill Cochran, Mentone; two granddaughters, Leisa (and spouse Mike) Norman, Akron, and Laura (and spouse Jeff) Felzien, Vienna, Ohio; and two great-granddaughters, Jennifer and Krista. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Ila Elkins and infant Mabel; and three brothers, Elva, Verl and Delford Taylor.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Mentone Church of Christ with Brothers Billy Steele and Keith Besson officiating. Burial will be in Mentone Cemetery.
Calling is from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Mentone Church of Christ, North Broadway, Mentone.
